CEMOVIS: Cryo-electron microscopy of vitreous sections

Experienced electron microscopists planning to implement CEMOVIS in their laboratory.

Course Objectives:
Being able to perform all operations of CEMOVIS and implement the method in the lab.

Entry Level:
Experienced electron microscopists (preference will be given to persons experienced in ultramicrotomy and in cryo-EM of vitreous specimen or in Tokuyasu's cryo-sections)
Registration Before September 31, 2008 with letter of motivation and CV.
Preference will be given to suitable applicants who were rejected from the 2007 course solely due to space limitations.

Starting days: Sunday, November 23 (registration at 14.00) – Thursday, November 27 (departure after 16.00)
Practice hrs: 27 Hrs.
Theory hrs: 6 Hrs.

Course material: Students will be provided with a set of known high-quality specimens to ensure that course objectives are met; however, students wishing to bring their own, non-pathogenic materials may do so, provided that suitable arrangements have been made with the course leader at least 3 weeks prior to commencement of the course.
